JUST THE BEGINNING is a feature length documentary film exploring the past, present and future of women’s political power through the lens of the 100-year history of the League of Women Voters and allied groups. In 1920, winning the right to vote with the ratification of the 19th amendment to the Constitution was just the beginning for women as agents of political power. These are the hidden stories of what came next and what’s at stake today.
You will get a sneak preview of the work in progress while enjoying a variety of wines by the glass, non-alcoholic beverages and delicious appetizers in the historic barrel room. There will also be a chance to become a producer of the film, including an auction to raise funds to help complete the documentary. A portion of the funds raised will be donated to SBWPC’s project “A Seat at the Table: A Fund for a Feminist Future” whose goal is to promote progressive, feminist political involvement.
