Following our 2016 electoral successes, the Santa Barbara Women’s Political Committee’s Candidate Development Committee (CDC) is taking this opportunity to invite your participation in our first community-based Diversity Dialogues event.This gathering will focus on listening to your concerns as well as to identifying and developing effective programs and practices that focus on women of color and other minorities, and how office holders in those groups can become more and more successful in obtaining and serving in political office. Our meeting will feature Dr. Pei-te Lien as the keynote speaker.  It will also feature a panel with brief remarks from our local political officials Santa Barbara City Councilmember Cathy Murillo; Goleta City Councilmember Kyle Richards; and 2nd District County Commissioner Anna Everett who will discuss their personal strategies in obtaining elected or appointed positions, and their strategies and goals for representing their diverse constituencies.
